Swedish label TRIWA and the Humanium Metal Initiative are collaborating on a line of minimal watches which, they hope, will help end gun violence. The project has launched on Kickstarter, and boasts a pretty special USP: The watches are crafted from Humanium Metal, a material made from destructed illegal firearms taken off the streets of conflict zones around the world Furthermore, a portion of the profits are donated back to societies afflicted by gun crime. TRIWA x Humanium Metal Initiative TRIWA has developed watches for over 10 years and, according to its page, hopes to “transform the [watch] industry.” The Humanium Metal has been molded into a solitaire piece with contrasting metal treatments It features TRIWA branding, embossed indexes on the dial and red second hand, a date display, and crown center.
The timepieces are optioned in two sizes: 34mm or 39mm. Each watch arrives with scratch-resistant sapphire glass and a model number. Peep the . Source
