Transparent Quasar Azure watch shows the inner workings of Girard-Perregaux

Girard-Perregaux's new Quasar Azure, an update of its original Quasar timepiece, shows off the inner workings of the watch through an unusual transparent case The company said its new release, limited to an exclusive run of only eight pieces, harks back to its first Bridges watch created over 150 years ago "A statement said:"Named after a luminous astronomical entity - the Quasar - its azure blue case is sculpted from a single sapphire disc.

"This case, with its sapphire crystal box, provides striking aerial views of the manufacture's skeletonised movement, the Calibre GP09400-1035." The case is formed, coloured, milled and polished by Girard-Perregaux artisans through a protracted process, taking over 200 hours "CEO Patrick Pruniaux commented:"When the tourbillon is bathed with light, the Quasar Azure shines like a star in the mysterious darkness of space.

"The Quasar Azure is a brilliantly bold expression of the company's technical mastery, contemporary design and rich heritage Indeed, [it] embodies the very essence of Girard-Perregaux." . Source
