Last year, the news broke that Ward was entering the watch business with the ICON Duesey, a timepiece inspired by classic Duesenberg automobiles from the early-20th century LRB: Why do you think there is so much crossover appeal between watch and car people? So one of the very first times I saw one of the early Duesenbergs with that drum-style gauge if you're familiar with it I always loved jump hours, and it was immediately obvious that it needed to be a jump hour watch LRB: Did designing and building your own watch influence how you perceive watches? How you collect them? LRB: So would you say that's a big difference between the watch and the car industry? Because I know in the car world concept vehicles are a constant presence and a huge marketing tool.
