Brand new for BaselWorld 2019, Sinn has designed a limited edition of their classic pilots watch, the new Sinn 104 St Sa A G Limited to 500 pieces globally, the Sinn 104 St Sa A G is the first 104 A model to feature a non-black dial The watch is officially sold out and available only on the secondary market.

The Case and Dial

The Sinn 104 Series was first introduced in 2013 and is today one of the most popular models for the brand.

Following the success of the original 104 I St Sa model, Sinn introduced the 104 A St Sa two years later, which features large white Arabic numerals set against a black dial

The military style watch is highly legible with a simple 3 hands configuration, day-date window and well-sized arabic hour numerals The day wheel contains 2 language options, in either English or German

Sized at 41mm, it is considerably smaller than the usual pilot’s watch culprits.

But the more wearable size makes the 104 a good daily wearer Apart from the time and day-date display, the 104 features a captive pilot’s bezel with minute ratcheting that can be adjusted bidirectionally

The 104 St Sa A G is also low pressure resistant to secure the sapphire crystal at high altitudes and is water resistant to a depth of 200 meters.

As much as this is a ‘Pilot’s’ watch, it is fit for a dive.

The Movement

Expectedly, the Sinn 104 uses a stock ETA 2836-2 movement, with 38 hours power reserve and beats at 28,800 vph The open sapphire caseback reveals a standard finishing grade movement with a customised rotor

An engraved, limited edition marking on the watch rotor which translates ONE of 500.

This watch is fitted with a vintage style brown calf leather strap

Concluding thoughts

Sinn watches hold good value even on the secondary market, primarily because of its brand name which is as robust as the watches it makes While the 104 makes for a no-frills straightforward, honest watch, it lacks a story that makes a timepiece.

Contrastingly, the U1s or EZMs while more expensive, are more unique and arguably more representative of the brand than the 104

The watch is priced at €1250 and is already sold out
