Timepieces from Rolex and Patek Philippe will lead Sotheby's auction of Important Watches this week in New York The auction features a selection of watches which includes rare chronographs, tourbillons, Daytonas, Submariners and Perpetual calendars The top lot at the auction is expected to be a Patek Philippe platinum minute repeating Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Wristwatch with Retrograde and Moon Phases which has an estimate of between $400,000-$600,000.
Made in 2007, it has more than 500 parts within its Calatrava case and once held the title of the most complicated Patek piece ever made Second in the list is a Rolex rare pink gold anti magnetic triple calendar chronograph which is expected to go for between $200,000-$300,000 Other pieces set to go for a sizeable amount on Wednesday in New York are the Rolex 'Padellone' and the Patek Philippe Minute Repeating Tourbillon.
