James Gurney back at the helm of Salon QP event

James Gurney has been appointed executive director of Salon QP, a luxury watch exhibition he created then sold to the Telegraph Group. He remained part of the management team at the Telegraph as a condition of the sale but left last year ahead of Salon QP and its associated magazine title QP being acquired by Hearst. Mr Gurney says the task now is to re-invigorate the event so that it meets the needs of a fast-changing watch industry and its customers. “We will be showing brand’s that we have a valid concept that delivers things that they cannot do themselves,” he says. “We have ideas that never got off the ground at The Telegraph, but Hearst is right behind,” he adds. Salon QP returns to London’s Saatchi Gallery November 22 to 24. . Source
