Hublot has taken its avant-garde Big Bang Sang Bleu collection up a notch with the Sang Bleu II chronograph, unveiled at the Baselworld fair in March and just now hitting the market Jean-Claude Biver, former president of the LVMH watch division that includes Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Zenith, and Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot's CEO, "Had a stroke of genius to see that the tattoo world and the watch world had something to do together," says Jean-François Sberro, president of Hublot North America, at a dinner for Hublot collectors in Boston "The marriage between the tattoo world and watchmaking world gave birth to one of the most incredible pieces that Hublot has ever done in 39 years of history" The ingenious model incorporates Plescia-Buchi's unique geometric tattoo motifs into the watch's architecture, which uses three stacked, rotating polygon discs tipped with elongated arrow shapes that serve as indicators for hours, minutes, and seconds.
"Hublot's design team was able to integrate those designs into the watch, but not just by applying an image on the dial or the strap, but by incorporating them into the movement, the heart of the watch." Sang Bleu II applies the same concept to a chronograph powered by the HUB1240 Unico manufacture self-winding chronograph movement Hublot is releasing 200 pieces in titanium and 100 pieces in the brand's proprietary King Gold. .
