Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet celebrates the innovative individuals who have elevated the brand's meticulous craftsmanship with an immersive exhibition in Tokyo 'Beyond Watchmaking' showcased the 144-year journey of Audemars Piguet's craft, transporting visitors into the manufacture's technological, cultural and geographic world The exhibition space is imagined by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur and complemented with artworks by Dan Holdsworth, Ryoji Ikeda and Alexandre Joly.
The exhibition combined Audemars Piguet's history and achievements with the company's geographic origins and reflects on the nature of time, involving visitors by engaging with their physical and emotional senses In the film above, designer and musician, Johnny Hiramoto, takes us on a tour of the iconic city before arriving at the exhibition Wearing the Royal Oak Offshore timepiece, Hiramoto identifies the constraints of time and how he uses it to his advantage to refresh.
