For New York-based jewelry designer Xiao Wang it's an industry that's apart of her heritage Her pieces are responsibly-made and locally produced in New York City by leading artisans, with a good dose of love Xiao Wang: I started to notice fashion around 7th grade, my mom had these beautiful emerald green suede heels, I remember I'd try them on and walk around in my room, being totally in love with a pair of shoes for the first time.

During my travels for modeling, I started to collect natural color diamonds and then it progressed to taking classes on making jewelry XW: The first piece of jewelry I designed was the first Galaxy ring from my collection, I used all of the natural color diamonds that I had collected at the time to make one ring, along with recycling a vintage ring I owned for the gold to make this ring XW: I use beautiful untreated natural diamonds and gemstones, I love the natural colors of the stones the way earth made them.

FC: What's the best piece of advice that you've been given when it comes to handling the industry?XW: The best piece of advice that I love actually came from my acting teacher, "The time you have is the time you need", it has always reminded me to keep going and finish no matter what. . Source
