L'ÉCOLE School of Jewelry Arts Opens in New York City

Established in 2012, with the support of the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels, L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts's mission is to educate the public on the craft of jewelry making, the world of precious stones, and the art history of jewelry Since its inception in France, L'ÉCOLE has traveled around the globe to offer students courses, talks, and exhibitions in different destinations Following a successful visit in 2015, L'ÉCOLE has returned to New York City from October 25 to November 9, and taken up residence in a beautiful mansion, inviting the public to immerse themselves in the art of jewelry making, guided by leading experts.

Also on view in the space are three exceptional exhibitions that call attention to the many aspects of fine jewelry: art in the form of sculptural works by Daniel Brush with the exhibition "Cuffs and Necks;" connoisseurship marked by an exclusive viewing of a local private jewelry collection with the exhibition "Through the Eyes of a Connoisseur"; and science and history in a display of replicas of 20 exceptional diamonds sold in the 17th century to the French king Louis XIV, with the exhibition "The Fabulous Destiny of Tavernier's Diamonds." In celebration of L'ÉCOLE's second homecoming to New York City, Amy Astley and Jane Keltner de Valle invited six friends of AD to enjoy a jewelry-making class on opening day and preview the exhibitions. .
