Hallmarking up in October as gold and platinum post double-digit growth

Hallmarking figures compiled by Assay Office Birmingham for October 2018 show a positive month overall, with gold and platinum both posting double-digit growth In total, October saw a 1.6% increase in the total number of items assayed compared to the same period in 2017, with a total of 1,071,799 pieces being handled in the month Platinum posted the greatest hike, with the precious metal citing a 191% increase, while gold followed closely behind with a 136% growth.

Silver and palladium declined by 8.3% and 5.0% respectively. . Source
